IMPORTANT WARNING & DISCLAIMER: All calculations, conversions, charts, FAQs, and formulas provided on kW Calc are for educational, design-planning, and general informational purposes only.

Engineering standards, electrical codes (such as the National Electrical Code/NEC), and installation procedures vary widely depending on local regulations, environmental conditions, and specific equipment parameters. The outputs of these calculators do not constitute professional engineering advice or licensed installation recommendations.

⚡ Electrical Calculations (Current, Sizing, Voltage Drop)

Wire ampacities, voltage drops, conduit fill capacities, and generator sizing values depend on cable insulation ratings (e.g. THHN, XHHW), terminal temperature limitations, ambient temperatures, and code adjustments. Our calculators assume general conditions. Applying outputs to physical installations without reviewing regional codes can lead to electrical fires, equipment damage, or code violations.

Airflow and heating/cooling recommendations do not account for building insulation coefficients (R-values), window solar gain factors, geographic altitude density modifications, or complex duct friction losses. 💧 Hydraulic & Pump Calculations (Pump Head, Flow)

Friction losses in piping systems are calculated using standard coefficients. Real systems experience age-related pipe corrosion, fitting resistance increments, fluid viscosity shifts, and cavitation hazards that can only be verified by physical pressure tests.

You must consult a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or certified contractor prior to executing any physical work.

3. Permitted Use & Licensing

kW Calc is offered 100% free of charge. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the site and utilize the calculator tools for personal, educational, or professional planning purposes, provided that you comply with these terms.

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or programmatically extract JavaScript logic or formulas from the site files.
  • Embed our tools inside an iframe or web wrapper on another commercial website without our express written consent.
